Prioritize Clubs At Creek

- November 28, 2023

We have Clubs in school for students to get to know each other, for them to have a space where they have comfort, get away from everything, and just be themselves.

Clubs and sports help students gain insight into their personality and in general help develop them. By participating in these, the students get impacted to be more passionate about their hobby, learn about their skills.

It also helps students to get out of their comfort zone, express their purpose and interact with other students. It helps your brain stay active, with all the stuff that you learn.

It also helps with our academics, getting scholarships, service hours, job experiences, or experiences in general easier. It develops our leadership skills.

We have lots of clubs here at Coconut Creek and each of them helps us to be more skilled in whatever we are good at or want to be good at. Clubs entertain us and improve us better at school and at home. They affect us positively as students in the way we treat our teachers and help us to be more concerned about our grades.

Though sometimes it might be too overwhelming for us to keep up, we still are motivated to participate, and be creative.

It gives me a sense of responsibility, a sense of leadership, a sense of belonging” – Vanessa Dormevil

As well as clubs, sports also help us, they develop our leadership skills, show us how to put others’ needs before ours. Sports are not only competitive, but also team spirit, commitment, self-discipline, mental toughness, learning to work with others, handling fear and failure, resilience, goal settings and such.

Sports can help you maintain a healthy weight. However, they also encourage healthy decision making. And as we all know, players are not going to win all the time, and sometimes they lose, and the most important thing is that the coaches teach that there is more to sports.

According to saint Johnsbury Academy, extracurricular activities increases Academic Performance

If students take part in activities, they are passionate about, they will learn concentration and focus. That concentration will carry over into their academic life and improve their academic performance. If students are involved in sports or performing arts, they will gain endurance and achieve stamina that is needed to perform well academically.

Overall, extracurricular activities will help prepare your child for college and their professional future.
