Coconut creek high school isn’t just a building with classrooms and lockers, it’s an experience with a mix of chaos, growth and unexpected moments that somehow shape you.
From the first day of freshman year, stepping into those crowded hallways was like entering a whole new chapter. Everyone was trying to figure out where they belong, kids repping their sports teams and the quiet ones just trying to make it through the day. By junior year, you (I) really start to notice that the people around you, the ones you once thought were different, are more like you than you realize.
Creek is where we celebrate spirit weeks with ridiculous outfits and cheer louder than we probably should at pep rallies, its where teachers like Mr. Brewer and Mr. Wiggins somehow manage to make even the toughest classes feel worth it because they actually care about us and our education ( shoutout to them for putting up with all of our nonsense).
But it’s not all perfect. Let’s be real we’ve had our fair share of drama, late assignments, and the days where the Wi-Fi just refuses to work. And yes, the cafeteria food is still…cafeteria food. But those are the little things we laugh about later when we’re sitting and catching up with friends about everything and nothing.
Some of my best memories come from trying out for different sports and clubs (cheer, art club etc.), staying after school with my closest friend roaming the halls and sneaking out to get some food at either Publix or bellaroma, and also just getting to be a teenager, losing the friends I did helped me be the person I am today and made room for more important stuff.
As the year wraps up, we know we’re all heading in different directions, but no matter where we end up, Creek will always be a part of our story, it’s where we grew up, found our voices, and learned to believe in ourselves, even when things got tough.
So, here’s to the highs and the lows and everything in between, creek isn’t perfect but that’s what makes it unforgettable.

Marice Reid (11th grader)- states that “creeks cafeteria food is garbage but the people here are cool, but the school does not know how to set up the schedules and often mess up”.
