Test Stress Relief, Art & Sponsored Blood Drive Served As Centerpieces of National Honor Society Event
During the busy testing season, the stress is so thick, you can almost feel it in the halls. Scholars and teachers alike sometimes struggle to find healthy ways to reduce the added anxiety.
Thanks to the National Honor Society, Cougars learned some coping strategies during a time when they are needed most.
The event was extremely timely given that the students were taking their SAT test that week. Some students reported they felt anxious before and after the test and the activities helped them.
A variety of activities were spread out throughout the week, including a coloring station, stress ball station, and a blood drive information booth.
Among the attendees, junior Jada Mann reports that the activities were extremely fun and relaxing.
Ms. Desinord, NHS sponsor, thought it was important to incorporate activities that were easy, enjoyable, and stress relieving. She “loved the tremendous benefits of coloring and stress balls such as extended attention span and focus, mindfulness, and stress reduction.”
NHS ended the week by sponsoring the blood drive which helped save lives and raise awareness for blood donation.
Overall, the event had a great turnout, the NHS team was called to be a part of a lasting impact, and the students and staff had a lot of positive feedback.
