Jayda Washington Awarded Cyber Security Scholarship

Huge Shout-Out to Senior Scholar Jayda Washington who was awarded the 2025–26 National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) Cybersecurity Scholarship! This is just the latest honor for Jayda, who is representing Cougar academics in major ways; in and out of Creek.

Jayda is a dual-enrollment Scholar, known for her service and leadership across Broward County. She serves as a Youth Consultant and Marketing Director for Dare to Care STEM Camp (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), where she encourages elementary and middle school students to explore STEM careers.

Jayda has also made an impact on a larger stage. She is a former TED-Ed Talk speaker and a NASA Space Camp Hall of Fame Scholarship recipient, and is known nationally and internationally for youth participation in STEM. Her leadership roles include President of HIP, Secretary and Senior Mentor for MTL, Treasurer of MOSS, and Broward County Chess Queen Ambassador.

Jumping the Hurdles

competes in track and field at the local, regional, and national levels. She was named the 2024 South Florida Speed Capital MVP and placed second in the long jump at the 2025 USATF National Youth Outdoor Championship in New York City.
