Boots are getting bigger and our campus could be a runway.
Fashionistas expect this winter to be the “Year of the Big Boot.”
Tall and trendy boots were first seen on celebrities such as Ciara, Lil Wayne and Coi Leray last year, after higher-heeled high tops made their debut in the summer. If you’re looking to make a tall statement, be prepared to pay. The big red boot fad we saw on celebs last year (think Fisher Price people wearing big people rain boots), emptied some wallets. Not only are they trendy, boots like these are very expensive; some cost up to $800.
Chunky-Soled Cougars
If you think South Florida is the last place to find chunky boots out on the sidewalks and on the beach, think a little close to home.
In fact, the hillarious red rainboot trend was first spotted on campus by one sole senior late last year. When the trend-setter student started rocking vibrant, bright, red-colored rainboots in the schoolhouse, it didn’t take long for other people to follow – including some staff members, students, and school security.
Fad or Fabulous?
As you know trends like this come and go, so I expect to see more silly trends like this in the future. Fashion is always changing, after all.
