Two people were rushed to North Broward Medical Center with traumatic injuries after a crash landing a Margate Parks & Recreation vehicle inside the Gamestop at 5499 W Atlantic Blvd. about 7 p.m. on Sat. night. Seven were injured.
The store was closed at the time. City officials are investigating the incident and have not released any additional details about those injured or their current condition. It is not known whether the driver was a city employee.

According to a statement released by the city on Mon., the city plans to release additional information after the investigation is complete.
“Our primary focus remains on the well-being of the injured individuals, and our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families during this difficult time,” the statement read.
“We extend our deepest sympathies to all those affected by this incident. The City of Margate takes matters of public safety seriously, and we are working closely with law enforcement to gather all necessary information to determine the cause of the accident.
